Welcome to In The River!

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Changes Coming to My Blog (October 2019)

Hey Everyone! Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by!

Because integrity and transparency is extremely important to me, I would like to inform you of some changes that I will be making to previous blog posts. Over the last year or so, the Lord has been showing me some areas where my belief in Him has been extra-biblical…or just plain wrong. These beliefs are reminiscent of my days in the new age. These same beliefs – though subtly shrouded – have also made their way into mainstream, western Christianity.

Just because a belief or practice is mainstream, or popular, doesn’t mean that it is TRUTH. That is why, over the last few months, I have been exposing new age beliefs and practices that have made their way into the Church (and I will continue to do so). It is also why over the next month, I will be re-reading my older blog posts and either editing them, or removing them altogether, in order to have my content strictly line up with the Word of God.

*I WILL NOTE WHEREVER AN EDIT IS MADE.

I have strived to focus my writings on the Word of God, but I know that there is a possibility that I may have used Scripture out of context or shared something from false teachers (or “prophets” or “apostles”) that do not line up with a proper interpretation of God’s Word. This grieves my heart and I feel an urgency to correct it. I have repented, and continue to repent, for any misinformation I may have shared over the last five years. My goal is to draw people closer to the love and salvation and TRUTH of Jesus Christ – not to be a stumbling block.

I pray that you will forgive me in any place where I may have been in error. And I implore you to weigh everything that you may read here against the inerrant and infallible Word of God, which is our constant standard as followers of Jesus Christ. I hope you will be patient with me as I make the changes that need to be made. Thank you, again, for visiting my blog. May God abundantly bless you as you continue to seek Him.

Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Allison Westling and I am a fully surrendered follower of Christ, wife, mother, writer (yes, in that order).

While my writing is not polished or refined, it is honest and straight from the heart. You will find no perfection, here. I simply share what I feel the Lord places on my heart as I navigate through a fallen world as a redeemed child of God. He is AWESOME and GOOD! And I hope as you read through these posts, you are able to see God’s glory shine through my feeble attempts to point to Him.

The name In The River is because of Ezekiel 47:1-12…specifically, the end of verse 9: “…so where the river flows everything will live.”

Be blessed! And I pray that you may find encouragement and renewal, here…
