Recent Changes and Future Plans

I’ve been away from both my blog, and social media, for a few months. It has been a season of change for me and my family, so a break was a necessary thing. I’m writing this as a quick update on what has been going on and to share a little about my plans for writing in the future.

In April, we sent our oldest off to Air Force Basic Training (so proud of him!!) and then a week later, we moved (locally) to a new home. We love our cozy, little house; however, it is half the size of our last house, so downsizing all of our stuff has been, and continues to be, a primary focus. After our move came the whirlwind of end of the school year activities for our other two children (so proud of them, too!!). I was hoping things would slow down a bit during the summer, but with work, volunteering at my friend’s farm – Steadfast Trail ❤ – and guarding time spent with family (along with continued organizing of our home), there has been little time to do much else…to include writing.

Spiritually speaking, I have needed the break, as well. I’ve been wrestling with some pretty tough stuff. That’s not a bad thing. It is human nature to avoid things that make us uncomfortable. But, most often, it is in those times, when we’re forced out of our comfort zone, that we experience the most growth. And sometimes, TRUTH hurts.

I have always been a “seeker.” Seeking TRUTH is what drives me. I’m not talking about seeking my truth, but seeking the TRUTH…no matter what it looks like or if I even fully agree with it. TRUTH is TRUTH, no matter how I “feel” about it.

TRUTH has recently slammed hard into some of my previously held traditions and beliefs…even some so called “Christian” ones. It has broken and humbled me…and led me to repentance. And at the same time, it has strengthened my relationship with God as I continue to look to Him – and His WORD – for TRUTH. GOD’S TRUTH, not mine.

Last December, I wrote a post called Poking the “Spiritual” Bear. Little did I know that it would open the floodgates of TRUTH in my own life…and challenge some of my long held beliefs. Beliefs that are rooted in New Age thought and practice. Beliefs that have infiltrated the western church.

I’ve been feeling led to address some of these beliefs and practices. I’m in the process of praying about how, what and when to write about these issues. I’m also praying about how to free up some time in my schedule to do so. They are not easy subjects to tackle. If they challenged me, then I know they will challenge both my New Age friends and family…and my brothers and sisters in Christ.

So, that is where I am and what I am up to, currently. I’m hoping to begin writing again, soon. I’ve already begun several outlines. If you feel led to do so, please keep me lifted in prayer. The stuff I plan on tackling will most assuredly bring on a measure of spiritual attack, but these issues are breaking my heart to the point that I can no longer remain silent.

For now, I leave you with this: “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and in truth; remove the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the [Euphrates] River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”Joshua 24:14-15 AMP

Glad you’re back! I stopped by your blog a few times over the last couple of months to see if I missed anything lol. I just prayed for you and will continue to do so. I’m really looking forward to your upcoming post. I think God has also been dealing with me in some areas.

Congratulations to your son! I spent 4 years in the Army right after high school. It was a blessing. I pray he enjoys his military journey.

    God bless you! ❤️

    1. Thank you for your prayer!! And thank you for your service! I did four and a half years in the Air Force. I had planned to stay in longer, but separated when the AF tried to send me to Japan during my first pregnancy without my husband. I requested that they cancel my orders (if they weren’t going to send my husband with me) and I had even found someone to take my place in Japan, but they refused to cancel my orders. So, I got out and my husband stayed in! It’s been exciting to watch our oldest begin his training. He seems to have been made for the military!

I’m hoping to get something posted, next week. I’m also hoping to spend some time reading the blog posts I’ve missed over the last few months (I always enjoy reading your posts! 😍). Thank you, again, for reading and for prayer!!!❤

Thanks for your service too! I got out of the army when my daughter was 8 months. They sent me to Korea and my mom kept her. I came back early and got out. Thanks for reading my posts also! Blessings and hugs! 🤗❤️
