YOU are Highly Valued

October is a pretty busy month for our family, so writing and posting everyday will be a bit of a challenge. On the super busy days, my plan is to post a quick “YOU” statement. Just a little something to meditate on, as a reminder of who you are.

Today’s YOU statement is:

YOU are Highly Valued

I would like to share something that Dan Mohler talks about concerning value. When you make a purchase – when you decide to trade your hard-earned money for a product or service – you want to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth. Right? If you decide to purchase a house, you’re probably not willing to pay $1,000,000 for a house only worth $160,000. That would be crazy!

When you walk into a store, different items have different amounts on their price tags because each item’s value is measured by their worth. When we plan to make a purchase, we often weigh the value and consider the cost.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, God looked at us and decided that each and every one of us was worth the price of His precious Son. He saw something in us, even before we were redeemed, that made Him think that we were worth the ultimate price that would have to be paid. It’s sad that, as Christ followers, we struggle to see our value, even though we know that we are covered in the blood of Christ. We are no longer “wretched sinners” – we are children of the King of all kings – purchased at the very highest price. That makes us highly valued. Not because of who we are or what we’ve done, but because of the price that was paid for us.

And something else to consider…

EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US wears the same price tag. We were ALL purchased at the same price – and that was the blood of Jesus. No matter our gender, race, religion, income, political stance, etc… we ALL have the same value. And if you are a Christian, then you are a child of God, first and foremost. When we seek to divide people into separate groups, and place varying values on those lives, THAT is the work of the enemy.
