Healing Balm (40 REAL Days)

DAY 39

This morning (and entire day, actually), I have just wanted to shut out the world and spend time in the Word. To hear from my Abba, Father. My emotions have been rather raw, lately. I think I really need the sun to return…

As I was flipping the pages of my Bible, heading to a specific verse that I was thinking I wanted to write from, I came across a verse that I’ve highlighted – and have turned to countless times.

The LORD your God is with you,

He is mighty to save.

He will take great delight in you,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with His singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

This passage is so precious to me…and I am so grateful to have been reminded of these promises at the precise moment I needed to hear them. They are a healing balm for my soul.

I love having access to the Word via electronic devices. It makes searching for Scripture (especially when I can’t remember where a particular verse is) easy. However, I would never use a computer, phone or tablet as my primary source. There is something so intimate in turning the pages of God’s Word. It feels a bit like seeking treasure. It is also an opportunity for your eyes to fall upon words from Him – for you – for that exact moment in time. I’ve lost track of how many times I was on my way to somewhere else and found myself right where He wanted me to be. Those moments – where He speaks directly to my heart and fills my spirit – I would miss if I always took the electronic route.

That’s all I really have for today. I’m just feeling the need to be quiet and allow Him to do the talking. What He has to say is always so much more interesting, anyway…

Have a wonderful day…be blessed!
