Meditating in the Word and in Prayer (40 REAL Days)

DAY 32

Today was a rough day. Those of you who are familiar with my blog know that I have a history of battling depression. I’m happy to say that I have gone almost three full months without a single bout of depression. That is…until today. I am also dealing with a great deal of fatigue and body pain, as well. I’m hoping it is just the lack of sunlight that is bringing all of this on. This girl is solar-powered and needs the sun!!

This morning, I continued meditating on The Lord’s Prayer. I’m asking for fresh revelation as I spend time pouring over the words that Jesus taught us to pray.

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:

Our Father in heaven,
 hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,
 your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
 as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
 but deliver us from evil.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:5-15

I have also spent time, throughout the day, praying for our nation and our leaders.

Here are some other prayer-related verses that I have been meditating on:

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14


Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake? If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him. Mathew 7:7-11AMP

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:16-21

    Solar powered…love it. I have had to camp out on Psalm 68:9 these last few rainy days…”You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance”

    I know it’s late but…

    So I mentioned last week that a song played on the radio and brought tears to my eye…it was what I needed to hear at that very moment from God….to just be held

    Has God ever showed you a moment that you just needed to let go and be held as He arranged your world?
